Temporary Uploads will disappear when SSA is fully enabled.  That function was broken by the code change.  Do NOT panic, though, Instead of Temporary Uploads, we now have Local Textures, which are almost the same.  When you want to apply a texture from your hard drive to an object in world without uploading it and paying L$10....

1. Select the object (and face) with your Build/Edit tool.

2. Open the Textures tab.

3. Click the Texture Picker window.

4. Select the Local radio button.

5.  Select ADD and browse to a texture on your hard drive.

6. Click OK.

The big difference between the new Local Texture and the Temporary Upload you are used to is that only you can see a Local Texture, because it never leaves your machine.  If you are designing collaboratively, you will need to share your textures off line by e-mail or a drop box.  The other (neat!) difference is that once you have applied the Local Texture, any changes you make on your machine are immediately updated on the object in-world too.
