Question

I'm having issues at my lounge with people arguing semantics of drawings being child pornography or not leading to me displaying no art.

The style of art in question involves chibi stylized anthropomorphic characters or fantasy creatures like pokemon in sex acts. These chibi characters while stated of being adults in their art form are being accused of being children despite being inhuman and having unnatural bodies that look neither young or old.

Another aspect of the issue is pornography involving cute looking pokemon which have been accused to also be child porn despite the fantasy creatures having no discernible age and are extremely devoid of a humanoid figure.

Thanks if you can advise me at all on this matter. I'd feel much better with some logical opinions before I reluctantly have to deny dispalying anylegitimate non-child porn art.

You know, it's all subjective until someone complains and convinces Linden Research that it is inappropriate. I protect Free Speech [including the depiction of sexual situations in Art] but in this area there are no absolutes.

You know that characterization of pornography by Supreme Court justice Potter Stewart in 1964  “I know it when I see it” - Well that applies here as well.

You can argue that the Chibi stylized anthropomorphic characters are adults in principle but if they look and feel more child-like then you're on a slippery slope.

The notion of discernible age is usually lost when the subject of examination arouses the notion of youthful [non-adult] appearance and interest. Thus the tie in to the “I know it when I see it” quote.

Tread carefully here...

chibi = kids.  I don't care what you say.

(That's my story and I'm sticking to it.  I could go on with a long winded essay about WHY chibi figures are kids, at least to me and to many people, but as has been said, it's subjective.)
