Black Encoder looking stamp appearing on my avi. Any ideas why?

In the last few days, my avatar is getting what looks like a black square "encoder" looking stamp randomly over the shape.  The first time it happened it was when I had put a new skin on it.  I'm not sure if that has any bearing at all. 

I did a "Character Test" today, and went back to noob...rebuilt the avi, no stamps on it.  Now in the last hour, the stamps are appearing again, several of them.  It seems worse than before...yay me!  :)

 

Any ideas why?  Should I submit a ticket to LL?
