How do I use AOs in the SL viewer? It doesn't seem built-in like in Firestorm viewer.

I have been using Firestorm viewer, but that viewer seems to be having issues. My avatar takes a long time to load and moves almost in slow motion. In the SL viewer, it loads more quickly and moves well. So, I'm trying to get used to the SL viewer, but one thing I cannot figure out is how to make AOs work in SL viewer. And I can't find anything about it in the knowledge base.

Can anyone help?

Linden Lab's V3 viewer does not have a built-in AO.  That's a special feture of Firestorm.  If you use V3, you'll have to get a separate AO to wear as a HUD on your screen.  You can usually get AOs in most animation shops in world.  Many are offered as a package with anims loaded in them, but you can get free empty AOs and add your own anims.

BTW, if things are loading slowly and you are moving in slow motion, it's almost certainly not the viewer's fault.  Those are usually symptoms of a flaky Internet connection.  It's not about bandwidth, although that can be a factor.  The problem is that you have either an exceedingly long ping time or a high packet loss, so that it's taking way too long for data to travel between your computer and SL's servers, and some of it is being lost along the way.  Those problems are usually very close to your computer, often because you are using a wireless connection --  a bad idea in SL -- or because your router needs rebooting.  Take a look at Nalates's blog for a more detailed discussion of problems and what to do about them.  See also http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/fs_very_laggy
