with firestorm, are friend's list stored on my computer?

sl wiki on firestorm, said you have to have a back up file of friends life, to save them after a clean install.  Is this true?

No.  What is said is that you have to save any IM files before you do a clean install, because those will be wiped out otherwise.  When I update my Firestorm viewer,  the first thing I do is open the AppData folder on my computer, find the Firestorm subfolder, and rename it.  Usually I call it something like Firestorm 7-3-13.  By doing that, I have saved everything in it, including all IM folders for me and my alt.  Then I wipe out the Local files and use the Windows utility to uninstall the Firestorm program.  When I install the new version, it automatically creates new versions of the AppData files, leaving the ones I saved untouched.

Your Friends list and groups are all on the SL servers, unaffected by viewer upgrades.
