Where can I download SL wallpapers or gif pics for my powerpoint presentation

Question

I guess first you'd need to visit some alternate universe where SL was marketed during the 90's and PowerPoint was still something people do.

You can make your own GIF images and wallpapers from snapshots in SL, using a free image tool such as GIMP.

You might also want to try Google Image Search, but proper attribution is required in most cases.

You could also try joining Educators lists such as SLeD (if that's still around), they might share resources with you.

SL doesn't have any of these already, for you to download specifically for your presentation.

If you really mean that you want to download pics from SL to use in a RL Powerpoint presentation, that's easy.  You can download any texture that you have full perms for.  Just open the texture by double clicking on it in your invenory. Then click Me >> Save As ... (or, if you are using Firestorm, just click the Save Texture button on the texture window) to save it on your hard drive.   If you take a photo in SL, you can svae it directly to your hard drive as you take the pic.

Hello Alisa,

depeding on what you like to do....

1) Download textures as already mentioned

2) Just take snapshots from SL to your harddrive - they are in png, bmp or jpg format and I think PowerPoint should be able to read them (at least .jpg works just fine). If not, use free programs like Filezilla to convert them.

3) Be careful with textures of other creators - using them for your presentation may violate copyright.

4) Pictures from locations (still be careful for copyright) can also be found on SL websites like Destinations.

have fun!
