how to make chat box window appear

someone please help, i'm trying to remove my chat box from an IM format into the regular chat bubble style. what do i do?

If you are using the Linden Lab V3 viewer, the local chat and IM windows are combined in the new CHUI interface.  If you like separate windows, you'll need to swuitch to Firestorm or one of the other Third Party viewers.  See this video >>>

In Preferences - Chat there is a checkbox for bubble chat.

And you can move the IM windows away from the conversions box in the new CHUI too to separate windows.
