/me doesn't work in chat.

The /me chat command doesn't work for me.  In local chat, my input text just doesn't show up.  In IM, it appears fine to me, but for the recipient appears as "/me XXXXX"  (tested with alt).  If I type /me in the middle of a sentence in local chat, the output appears as "test test /7/me test test".  The /7 is mysteriously added (only does this for /me, no other commands).  This is specific to this account only (it works fine with my alt), and is reproducable across computers and browsers.  I've messed with the chat settings repeatedly, but I'm stumped.

All other chat commands (that I use) work as intended.

It looks like you've got some sort of object attached that's trying to do something special with your emotes. It might be something like a roleplaying tag. The "/7" is a sign that something is trying to use an internal communications channel to communicate with something else. If you're wearing anything that SHOULD do that try resetting the scripts in it.

I detached all objects, even took off all my clothes. I changed to an entirely different avi. I deactivated my only group tag. There's been no change. It is only the /me function. /shout, etc., work fine.
