Howdy All-

I was on Second Life forever ago, funny to be back, but after doing a huge amusememt park in Roller Coaster Tycoon, got to craving a sandbox again. Anyways, thanks for taking the time.

The request: I need to brush up on the basics of building, thats my main thing, love to buy property the deck it out. Its been YEARS since Ive done this. Any websites that have good video tuitorials that peeps can point me to? Thanks

Issue #1- I bought two properties side by side, but one shows up as on one zone with the the other on another zone, even though they are right next to each other on a mountain.Anways, I cant join them. Its says cant join two props from two servers?

Issue #2- I think this may be about me not doing something right. Ive started building a decent sized house but where the floor extends over to the smaller property, I fall through the floor versus being able to walk on it. I dont know if this is related to #1 or if Im doing something wrong?

Many thanks for time!

Jin

If your land is across a sim boundary (You'll jump between two region names when moving from one side to the other) then... yeah you're gonna have a lot of problems building there.

Collisions in one simulator never pass to another simulator. You'll walk through half of the floor until you swap to the right sim.

Text and voice chat never pass to another simulator. You won't be able to hear people talk even if they''re only a few meters away.

You cannot join parcels on different simulators. Ban lists won't work, scripts won't be able to communicate, people might even get disconnected walking from one side to the other.

I discoverd that when I bought my first two parcels. They must be on the same sim. Check with your neighbors and see if anyone wants to do a land trade. You never know. For building, lookup and join Builders Brewery. They're a great resource for free training classes, tutorials and lots of free tools, textures, sculpt maps. Good luck!
