Hi , when I try to log into secondlife a message pops up saying "Unable to connect to a simulator"  I logged in earlier that day and it was fine, I don't know what to do to change this, help would be appreciated, thank u x

It's tuesday, so there's the rolling restarts. The message means that the sim you're trying to log in to is down. Try to log in at a quiet region such as Smith, or go for random regions like Loki, Mystical or wherever, one of them is bound to be online at this moment :)

To get past this problem of a region being down for a restart or whatever, open Peferrences->General. Enable the Show at Login for Start Location.

This will add a new field to the login screen: Start At:. This will allow you to enter a region name like; Pooley, Furball, or any that you know. You may have to try more than one. During restarts 4000 or so servers are going to restart in 5 or 6 hours or less, that's 600+ per hour or 10+ per minute.

Regions are typically down for 10 to 20 minutes but have been known to be down for an hour or more.
