Furniture menus and pose balls will only work for residents of skyboxes when I am on the land.

I have found someone rezzed a script on my land

http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&tl=en&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.infos-du-net.com%2Fforum%2F278126-11-resolu-trojan-vundo-fichier-geebc-impossible-supprimer

I do not know if this is causing a problem with scripted items, but unless I am on sim, much of the furniture will not rezz menus or pose balls.

Anyone know anything about either of these issues please?

I don't know if it's smart to leave that hyperlink in your question.

ETA: Link appears safe enough. It's Tom's Hardware, in French.

There's no way someone can 'rez a script' containing a virus on a Second Life simulator.

If your PC is infected with the virus you linked, this won't affect your SL furniture.

I don't know what this question is about at all.

a lot of scripted furnitures come with a menu where you can set who can use them. if your furnitures are settled to "owner only", noone will be able to use them..

i agree with the answer before, this cant be related to a virus...more probably to how you settled your furnitures usage perms.

As Freya already said nobody can 'rez' a script on your land.

But they can rez an Object that contains scripts.
In case you are afraid that one of the objects on your land does things you do not approve of, simply rightclick and 'return' this object. (you need administrative rights for the parcel though - if you don't have them talk to the landowner and have him/her remove the questionable object)

The Fact that certain furnitures and poseballs / menues only work when you are near. Might be a wanted feature which was made by the crerator of the items, because many customers actually request their furnitures to stay 'private' and to avoid others being able to use it when you are not around, or even only allow you to operate them.

Please read carefully the descriptions and manuals that came with  the furniture and poseballs or contact their creators to find out more. Often  their menus offer to either enable or disable this kind of 'lock'.

To whom does the furniture belong?

Problems with furniture sometimes not rezzing poseballs are normally caused by a very long-standing issue (I am not sure it's regarded as a bug or as the permissions system working as intended) to do with who has permission to rez items.

Briefly, if the land permissions are set so that only people with certain group roles can rez objects, then items belonging to them will only rez objects while their owner is online.   The matter is discussed at length in the old jira SVC-3145 and some work-rounds are suggested.

I don't really understand why menus would be affected, except that if you reset the scripts in an MLPV2 object, then the owner has to restart it.    That might be a clue.

I would suggest investigating the matter a bit further, to see if it might be this same bug.   Possibly things have changed so that the owner has to be on the same sim.   Certainly, though, after investigating so you are clear what is happening and when, I would suggest filing a BUG jira, since I am told that LL may at last be working on this issue.
