The title pretty much sums it up...I was linking my house together after remodeling it and somehow it just disappeared!! I must have done something to cause that but, I have no idea what that might have been. I'm using the standard SL viewer and can't find any way to "undo' or find it in my trash folder etc...obviously it went some where, I just don't know where or if it's even retrievable at this point. Thanks for any input.

I'm not a builder, so this might be off the mark, but could try highlighting transparent. If it's still there and juist disappeared, you'll at least be able to find it. Then maybe you can put it back,.

Good luck

Sorry for you loosing your house. Maybe it happened during the performing unscheduled maintenance from LL to day? It happened to me a while ago, with some furniture. While I was moving them around, they suddenly disappeared, and never came back. I have started to keep an eye of LLs notices about when they warn not to do things to un-copy items.

I hope you get your house back. Perhaps after next restart of region?

Thanks for the quick replies but, alas it seems as though I am going to have to start over....I don't see the icon for a coalesced object in any of my folders....no object, no returned object, no "lost and found" not even in the trash....so, it seems I hit the "delete and send to an alternate universe" radio button. Going to think this one over just a bit longer before I start all over again...LOL

This is actually sadly incredably common in sl. I had a friend once who was a builder and I've seen parts of her house just simply disappear. Still sl is better about this then opensim is.. in open sim if I build like half or more of my things go curropt or disappear no matter what grid I'm on.:/

Thank you for giving us an update.

I hope some more suggestions come along.

It's miserable when you have to redo something - we've all been there. :smileyfrustrated:

Thanks again for all the suggestions but, I have had zero success at any sort of retrieval. Just one of those things that make us all love computers...LOL. At any rate it gives me something to do for a while. Thanks again to all.

As a last thought -

if you were in the process of editing the house, eg, moving it about then maybe you might have let go of it as sometimes, especially with the horizontal co ordinate movements objects can seem to run away from you very fast and if youre not experienced at building it could well have shot off in the sim somewhere and be a few thousand metres away ! or even under the ground.

You could try a search to see if its still on the sim somewhere.  This has happened to me and ive found objects up in the air thousands of metres above me.  When you do the search if the house, or the part of the house youve searched for, is there it will be easily found by following the red arrow.

Try it, might help you find the house - good luck :)

It sounds like you may have moved it. I've done that before and it took me awhile to find it. I would fly around and see if you find it. If any part of it was scripted and you own the land, then look at the script detail part of your parcel details (it can be found on the general tab) then after it loads, just find a part of the house and highlight that. Follow the arrow and you should find your house. (If it wasn't deleted). From what I hear, if you hit the delete key on your keyboard then it does delete the item but it doesn't show up in your trash folder (I haven't yet tested out that bit of information so I'm not sure how accurate it really is).

I hope that helps some and I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune.
