We are friends and premium members. Can we buy a larger parcel and divide it using our Linden land allotment? Right now we each have a Linden home and rent a place for both.

Yes, you may form a group and then buy the land as a group, with each of you contributing tier allowance to the total.  I'd recommend three steps:

1. Read about group-owned land >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Group-owned-land/ta-p/700079

2. Take a free class in land ownership and management from Lindal Kiidd at Caledon Oxbridge University.  I believe she offers her basic class every Friday evening.  With luck, she'll be here shortly to tell you when and where.

3.  Take care when you create your group.  I recommend NOT being co-owners with your friend.  Friendships, even strong ones, are not necessarily permanent, but group ownership is.  If you decide to part ways, neither one of you could force the other one out of the group, leaving you with a potential stalemate.  It's wiser to open the group with your alt.  You can always trust your own alt.  :smileywink:

EDIT:  I just noticed the important word "Linden" in your title.  No, you may not buy and combine Linden Home parcels.  First of all, you don't own them.  Governor Linden does.  You can only rent.  Second, you cannot sublet or sell Linden Homes.  Finally, you have no control of which Linden Home you get, so there's no way to guarantee that you and your friend will even be on the same sim, much less on adjacent parcels.  So, my answer above assumes that you are not going to stay on Linden Home parcels but are going to buy land elsewhere.
