Welcome to SL Duvane,

My suggestion is to check the search function and look for groups that spark your interest....type in movies, music, shows, whatever...you should be able to find a group on that topic, When you're in there, join the group, then send out a group IM or IM the moderator. I've found it's one of the best ways to connect with other people here.
