Every sq m of land supports slightly less than 0.229 prims.   So multiply land area by 0.229.  In this case 6144 x 0.229 = 1407

Rolig and KarenMichelle are quite right for about 95% of the land in SL...but if the land is a private estate, or on certain parts of the Mainland, the prims allowed may be different.  Go to the land itself, right click it, select About Land, and look in the Objects tab.  Note the number given under "parcel land capacity".
