Everytime I log in after about 3 minutes my screen goes black and my computer shuts off. I have reinstalled the viewer more than once and tried shutting everything down and restarting multiple times without success. The video card I have is not listed on the Second Life website so I don't know if it's not compatable and causing my problem. I need this game to work for a class I am taking this summer so I need to get the issue fixed ASAP.

My video card is an ATI Mobility Radeon x1600 I run Windows 7

Intel (R) Core (TM)2 CPU T7400@ 2.16GHz

2.00 GB RAM

32 Bit Operating System

Thank you

Welcome to Second Life Answers, DawnRaeB

Your computer shuts off completely?  Well, I'd say its giving you plenty of warning signs that it just does not want to run Second Life.

However, to see exactly why, it would be extremely helpful to us if you would click on "options" at the top right hand corner of your original post and "edit" to cut and paste your full system details.

Thanks for adding those system details.  As Marigold suspected, you machine is undersized and underpowered for Second Life.  The ATI Mobility Radeon x1600 is a middle class graphic card for use in Performance Thin notebooks.  It's been around since 2005, so it is now an 8-year-old technology too.  If you take a look at the recommended system requirements for SL, you'll see that you ought to have something in the 4000 or 5000 series if you're going to be on a Windows 7 system in SL.  You also ought to have 3 GB of memory or more.  With luck, you might get low quality graphics on that machine, but at the risk of overheating and damaging components.  The fact that it's going black and shutting down is a warning of just that sort of failure.  If I were you, I'd avoid entering SL until you get a significantly better computer.
