Sephina Frostbite Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 IMHO, Go for something you like and feel confident in. THe ladies will come. However, and again this is just my opinion, I feel mesh avatars are not ready yet to be out there. They do look rather odd. Personally I think a man that is confident, charming and honest and any avi will get my attention faster then some hot looking avi that's a jerk. As for body types I think the trend is lean and muscles, like athletic (could be wrong) but big bulky hulk like muscles are less seen nowadays.
Madeline Blackbart Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I think in the long run you'll find that every girl has diffrent tastes. I personally find the not overly muscly normal guy attract but know there are some who like muscly. So the previous poster is right on that one be who you want talk to girls I'm sure you'll find someone. I disagree witht he previous poster that mesh avies aren't "ReadY" or don't look good. They look very nice and are functional avatars. Theonly issue you'll run into with them is that your wardrobe is limited to what the seller sells for clothing and depending on the avie what invisibility points they added to it.
Syo Emerald Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 The quality of a meshavatar depends highly on the skill of the creator. There are horrible meshavatars around and some which are fine...but as you said limited in their choice of clothes.
Skell Crazyboi Posted May 5, 2013 Author Posted May 5, 2013 I'm pretty much all this in SL confident, charming and honest also to add a tease XP although irl I'm not confident the rest I still am but either way, I appreciate the reply but I kind of want your honest thought of what you like for a muscle male as my character at the moment is a muscle wolf 1st Act but I've been considering going for a human muscle one kind of why I posted this Forum.
Drake1 Nightfire Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 i say go fro the hercules av.. Go big or go home i always say..
Skell Crazyboi Posted May 5, 2013 Author Posted May 5, 2013 Well I'm using that link as an example but would like other links on certain muscle AVs.
Marianne Little Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 You link to a special mesh avatar merchant. I can't say that the Hercules avatar is attractive at all. Unless you roleplay Hulk or another superhero type. Or a God-like charachter. Even a gladiator/Thorwaldslander role perhaps. So yes, that avatar can be good, but it has to be in a setting that fits him. I would say that the Kevin, Fredrick or Nick looks better. Theyt aren't original, any of those avatars.... coming from other games. And how much you can customize them is another thing. Back to the mesh avatars, invest in a better **bleep** than the one that comes with them, if you intend to use them for sexual play. You really get tired of voice chat commands and only 2 states. The most females you will interact with is tiny compared to a big avatar, and from the 1st act werewolf, I guess you know about the "poking through" your partner problem. That ruins the visual for me a bit. If you want a human male to work in more casual settings, I would say that a good detailed skin and a shape that has good proportions is very nice. Long enough arms and not a tiny head. It is more the whole pack, how the avatar is dressed, the hair, everything. Mesh feet is very nice if you go naked. Tiny deformed sl feet or shoes on in all settings isn't so pretty.
Marianne Little Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 I can't think about any adult human male avatars in mesh that I like better than the ones you link to in your first post. It's some really nice non-human avatars, but humans is hard. And this comes from me, who wear a mesh head, mesh eyes, mesh hair, mesh breasts, mesh hands and mesh feet! But the default body is there as a base for outfits. Male avatars don't have a relly good mesh head yet. And the body... well, you are really stuck with outfits from the avatar creator, can't mix n' match.
Drake1 Nightfire Posted May 5, 2013 Posted May 5, 2013 i have yet to find a male mesh foot that looks good and is relatively easy to color match.. any suggestions?
Bobbie Faulds Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 first and formost, contrary to what you may believe, you actually already are wearing a "mesh" avi. Now..your shape is the muscle and bone that supports your skin. Most of your muscle definition is going to come from your skin, NOT your shape. A good skin will run you between 1-2K. Prodigal, Coca and Wolfe, Eroisme, among others, offer muscular skins that will give you the look you want. You don't need to max out the sliders on the shoulders/arms/legs to get a good, balanced muscular shape.
Nox Vought Posted May 9, 2013 Posted May 9, 2013 Those seem pretty extreme as far as muscles go unless that's the look YOU want. I don't see many girls who are here for pixel sex, wanting that type. They want something more realistic and rugged. Could do that with the basic avatar shape with some tweaking and get a nice skin. As long as it isn't all sliders maxed out, especially the duffle bag. Tellaq makes some very nice shape/skin combos that are just that, rugged and masculine without looking too extreme.
Amador Vortex Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 The FlexE avatars are good but you are limited to the clothes that come with the avatar. So for that reason I'd have to suggest the mesh avatar from Horo Kral over at HORO® Store. The thing I like about this avatar is that it comes with a HUD that allows you to load different skins AND make various parts of the avatar mesh invisible, thus allowing you to use more mesh clothes. The "HV5: Kevin Mesh Shape" has two mesh shapes, the main shape and the other being a "beefy" version. Plus if you are really crafty/or know someone who is- it comes with a DEV kit so you can make your own skins for the mesh shape. But yeah- for me the selling point was the HUD that allows you to make parts of your mesh body invisible, so you can customize it more... Now if only hhefestos mesh avatars had the same HUD, I really like my Jonathan AV just not his clothes- lol.
