I keep getting horses returned to me on my land and they are disappearing.

The first thing that comes into my mind is, is the land set to group - is it group land?  Are you rezzing horses without a group tag? 

Check your lost and found folder in your inventory for those missing horses.  When other horses are returned to you, check what message you receive to see if that gives you a further clue why your horses are being returned to you on your land.

What is the Land Impact of a horse?  How many prims do you have left in the prim allowance on your land?  If you are trying to rez more than the land allows, the servers will usually refuse.  Sometimes, however, they will let you rez the new objects but delete something that was already there.
