By the way, your question has a title but no message.  Maybe you typed an explanation but it wasn't saved here. Are you using Internet Explorer 9 as your browser? If so, you need to set Compatibility mode for this web site.

Look at your account balance at secondlife.com >>> Account >>> Account Summary.  That should tell you exactly how much money you have in your $ balance (USD) and in your L$ balance (Linden Dollars).  If you have money in your $ balance, you can buy Linden Dollars with it on the Lindex.
