Question

Unable to connect to simulator?

I've been trying to log in since roughly 6am SL time, it's now after 9am SL time.  no grid status, until about 10 minutes ago, one appeared about region restarts being slow.  There appears to be no place to 'report a problem'?!?

One thing to keep in mind, I'm hardly stupid... I've been a computer networking and internet specialist for 30+ years (yes, that means before the internet as YOU know it even existed....)  This problem isn't on my end... everything is fine with my computer(s), my network(s), my security system(s), and my DNS...  This is an SL problem, and there is NOTHING useful on the grid status page.

:manfrustrated:

EDIT:  Let me point out that 'slow region restarts' does not address simulator login failures...  two different kinds of servers - if you believe the server farm architecture articles that the Lindens have put out there.

The region region restarts which have been / and are done whilst the latest actions on the grids, might still be the cause:

[Posted 9:05am PDT, 22 April 2013] We’re restarting a small number of regions this morning.  They may be down for slightly longer than a normal restart cycle.   We’ll return all regions to service as quickly as possible.

If the region yoiu tried to access was within the list of the restarted servers, then the 'unable to login to simulator' is just normal.
Sometimes it also might already give you an error on 'regionhandshake' not being possible.

Side effects, or additional not announced steps, while the maintenance is ongoing are often normal. So i'd just wait until its over / resolved.

If f the issue should still remain after that, try the regular cache cleaning and everything else of that matter, and possibly up to a clean install procedure.

Since you said you are very familar with all this, i'm sure i don't need to explain the whole procedure ; )

PS: there is no link to report a problem on the Grid status page, because you do this here: https://support.secondlife.com/create-case/
