is there a way to make urself appear invisible to certain people while in world?

you can find some items that will make you invisible, or wear alphalayers all over your avatar that will make you transp. Some of these items says that they will even hide your name tag, but honnestly ive never tried any so i dont know if this is true.

But anyway, your name will be visible in radars, and place with scripted devices, like greeters, or counters, will detect your presence whatever your appearance. 

This is for if you want your avatar is invisible physically, and you cant choose to be invisible for some and not for other pp.

If its about your friendlist. i mean if you dont want that some pp in your friendlist know if you are online or not. you can uncheck the lil box there is beside the name you want they dont know in your friendlist. That way these pp will see you as offline on their list. The limit is that if, by chance, they im you (even if they think you are offline) , they will know you are online bec they wont have the usual message telling them you are offline.

 No, not really.

You can uncheck the box that allows them to see when you are on line on your friends list.  However if they are in any groups you are in they can see  you on line, if they send you an IM or send you an inventory item they will find out, if they are the same sim and look at their minimap they can mouse over the dots and see your name and also show on any radar they have. If the run intno your on the grid they can see you.  In short there are many different ways to find out that you are on line if they really want to investigate it.

If they're bothering you or you don't feel like talking to them, you can mute them. If they try to IM you while they're muted, they'll usually get a message back saying that they've been muted. They'll still be able to physically see your avatar, but you won't see theirs, and they won't be able to talk to you.

There is no way to appear completely offline to anyone. There are always ways for them to see you. If it's that important to you, you can create an alt and tell no one about it. Don't make any new friends, and don't tell anyone the account is an alt.
