Question

Posted

Very important, please help. I called SL support but they said it isn't possible. The thing is that I did it once a few years ago on one of my accounts.

Personal reasons that I don't want to talk about. I can just say that I don't want to not spend so much money on that game...

If LL said they won't do it, you're out of luck. It may be something they no longer do, or something strange that happened back then that wasn't actually supposed to. You can submit a support ticket asking for a review of your limit, and request in the ticket that it be lowered. As far as I know, however, that's the only way.

ETA: You could always try removing your credit card information. You can put it back easily, but you might find it to be an at least moderately effective deterant.

Never heard of a decreased request before... Why would you want to do that if I may aks? You can add infos using "options" > "edite at the top right of your post to add text or press permalink under a reply to post a comment Pattie.

All you can do is exercise a little self restraint, and for gosh sakes, don't spend up to your limit!  Those limits are set VERY HIGH for most purposes, and if you are spending that much, you have a serious problem!

Some things to do:

  1. Set yourself a budget, with a set limit on how much you'll spend in SL.  Only spend that much every month, and NO MORE!
  2. Use a payment method with a built in limit.  If you use PayPal, keep a limited amount of money in the account.  If you use a credit card, use one with a low credit limit.
  3. Learn to do more with less.  Shop for freebies and sale items, not that $L2,000 designer dress.  Learn to create your own clothes and other objects.
  4. Only spend what you earn.  Start a Second Life business.  Create and market things, and only spend the $L you earn from your efforts.
