Can I drop a house into a rezz box for better controlin placement on land

I have a skybox with 4walls and I want to drop it on land removing the walls it did not come in a rezz box therefore I have no control as to placing it properly on my land   so I thought a rezz box would accomplish the placement.  How do I do that?

If you have full modify permissions for the skybox, you could set it up in a rezz box, but that seems like overkill for what you want to do.  Setting up a rezz box for a structure involves a lot more than "dropping the house in".  Each linkset or unlinked prim has to have a positioning script placed in it, which automatically records its position relative to the rezz box.  When that's done, you Take a copy of the scripted house, and put it in the rezz box.

It's a lot easier to link the house into a single object.  (CAUTION:  Some scripted things like doors or tintable windows don't like to be linked to other things, and things that are supposed to be phantom should not be linked to things that are not.)

Or, still easier, just select all the parts of the house. 

1. Select any part
2. Hold SHIFT and either select another part, or
3. Hold SHIFT and drag a selection rectangle around all the parts

Or, even easier yet

1. Open an Edit window
2. Drag your house from your inventory onto the ground.  It will automatically be selected

Try reading this >>> http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/How-to-move-a-build/ta-p/919109 .  Moving a structure is a little scary the first couple of times you do it, but it's really not hard if you pay attention.  Practice with things that you don't care about first, and then just take a deep breath and go for it.

you can still rezz your skybox on the ground where you avi is.  and edit the skybox... and just settle the higher you want the skybox go, with the 'z" setting in position.. ie.. if you want the skybox go at 700 m above the ground, type 700 in the "z" position field

Then since your avatar will still be on the ground, rezz a chair, or seat. sit on it.. do the same in edit tab, to 700 m in "z'". (be carefull your  seat is aproximatively in the same place that was your skybox on the ground. ) and then click on Esc for refreshing your cam, and reach again your avatar. and you'll see you sat on your chair in your skybox ! Voila
