Is the L$1000 bonus not applicable when the premium membership is renewed?

I presume that the bonus is applicable only for the first time signing up for Premium account. Is there any incentive for annual renewal apart from the fee structure?

Would the bonus be given if I change to basic account and change back to premium account?  I understand that in the interim period any lands owned would get affected.
