snapshots and textures

A snapshot IS a texture, and can be used in all the same ways that you use a texture.  The only difference is that it has a different inventory symbol.

If you are so obsessive that you want to change that, just download the snapshot to your hard drive, then upload that file again to SL (paying the $L10 upload fee).  While you have it on your hard drive, you can manipulate it and retouch it in Photoshop.  The uploaded file will have the symbol of a texture.
