Security orbs - question!

I need to set something and not sure how to do it. So let me explain...

There is one platform that needs to have public access and I want to make sure that certain people can't enter it. So I was thinking to set a security orb and ban that list of people from the predefined area. These people would have access to the whole parcel, except the platform. But I can't add tons of people on the white or manager list in that orb. 

I need a simple solution that would make only that certain list of people off, and others not to be aware/not bothered with it. I am not sure if security orb can do this?

Most security orbs have a ban list as well as a white list. When I've used security orbs, I always go for Thomas Conover's Land-Security ORB. It's very easy to set up and there's always lots of support available. You can set it so it boots only those on the ban list. There are cheaper and pricier out there, this one is 300L but IMO is a very good one and quite versatile.

Well I tried it with my alt, it banned the avatar from the whole parcel, and I need it only away from this tiny range - where the platform is.. Maybe I didn't explain it good lol. 

I need to set the list of avatars that won't be able to enter the platform, but at the same time to be able to enter other parcel areas.

Hmmm it will do that, you have to set the range on the orb. We have one set for 20m, for instance. If someone is say, 21 meters away from the orb, he's safe. When you click on the orb, you should get a blue drop down menu and you can choose various features from that. I'm not inworld at the moment but I'll log in and see about walking you through it.

You should be able to set the distance that the security device deals with. If you platform is away from the rest of the stuff, you should be able to set up so that it covers only the platform area. The security device that I sell does everything you want.

ETA: And judging by Lucretia's last post, which was posted while I was writing this one, so does the one you already have.

A decent security orb allows to define an exact area (sphere or cube and a restriction to stick to own land only) and has a black and a whitelist so you can use what matches better. It's possible to use group access too but everyone who enters has to wear the group tag then of course or become ejected.

I have a pretty old device that is capable of it, not in use atm, don't know creator nor if he still exists, but I'm sure you find alot on marketplace.

Tamara if you are using the Thomas Conover orb you will  need to go into the advanced menu, then to the second page and choose "Bounding Box" which will give you and indicator (little green circle thing). Set one of these out at each corner of the platform and then at whatever height you want above the platform in the middle (5 total - think platform shape) then go back into the bounding box menu and choose "save box",  

You wil need an orb specifically for the platform - how this will work with a parcel orb working as well I'm not sure but you can leave the land public access and just use the orb for the platform. I use these with rentals and they work great.... then once you have the bounding box set up you can set a blacklist on it.

Keep in mind this won't keep that bunch of people from being able to see into the platform but it will keep them out. IM me in world if I can help

Yes I am using his orb and 96 meters is perfect for platform! For now seems its working fine, I needed everything to be public access and few people away from the platform only. 

Btw its great to see helpful people here, I will IM everyone if  I get any troubles
