Larry,

1st of all call the Billing department for a clarification immediately. We are a Resident to Resident Help Service and can not look into your billing and account issues.

2nd, in addition to
a) Abandoning/Selling your land &
b) Requesting a membership change from Premium to Basic you also need to
c) Reduce your Land Use Fees back down to Zero. [This is not done automatically when you sell/Abandon Land]

Remember, if you have done all these things then you may also be billed one last time at the rate appropriate for the peak land sq meters owned in the prior billing period even if you only owned the land for a minute. That $25 charge looks like you were billed for

USD 25.00/ month 4,096 1/16 Region

Was this the size parcel you abandoned?

On getting a refund, if you do a really good mea culpa, the Billing Department may, and I mean may, refund you the amount billed if you in fact only forgot to lower your Lane Use Fee level.

This happened to me, I didn't lower my land use fee to 0 after abandoning land. I did not get a refund, despite pointing out that I could find no clear cut explanation or instruction on the SL website explaining that this was necessary. It just never occurred to me that they would keep billing me for land I did not own. However, this sounds like a one last bill situation, since without a premium account, the land use fee does not come into play.
