i cant wear my clothes, the butoons add and wear etc. remain gray

My question is as the title says: i cant wear my clothes. I dont know what happened, but the relevant parts of the menu remain gray

I have had mine do that in the past, or at least take a long time to change from grey.  You might try clearing your Cache and relogging to see if that helps.  Hopefully someone else will post with more ideas for you.

You can't just open Inventory, right click on a clothing article, and select "Wear" or "Add"? That doesn't require any buttons, and it's the fastest way I know to wear something

Ah, OK. You may be in a sim that's having troubles, so the first thing to try is getting dressed in a different sim. If that doesn't work, then it may be your own Internet connection that is a little weak. I assume that you are not using wireless. If you are, though, don't. Try rebooting your router too. That often clears up connection issues fairly quickly.
