Lucretia Brandenburg Posted April 2, 2013 Posted April 2, 2013 For realistic eyes with larger pupils, I'd go with Candace Hudson. For more realistic eyes with smaller pupils, I'd go with IKON. I've never found prim eyes to add much to a look, I wouldn't go to some pricier place with prim eyes.
Amethyst Jetaime Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 IKON, great style and color choices as well as a range of tones and iris sizes in each color. I too wouldn't bother with prim eyes. I never saw much difference myself either and its just another thing to worry about accidentally detaching.
Ricky40 Posted April 3, 2013 Author Posted April 3, 2013 Thanks folks. Glad for your comments on the prim eye, I always felt the same that they do not add much, but I thought maybe I was doing something wrong.
Marcus Hancroft Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Howdy, Ricky Personally, I love Redgrave's eyes and that's whose eyes I've worn for a long time. She has many different colors and they look very realistic in MY opinion. Marcus H
Ariel Vuissent Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I find that the only thing prim eyes really work for is special effects. If you just want a realistic pair of eyes, all you really need is a high-quality system eye. Personally, my avatar is heterochromatic - her eyes are two different colors, one brown and one blue. This can only be achieved by prim eyes. Prim eyes also work well for some fantasy avatars, but for a standard human avatar, they seldom add much to a look.
Madeline Blackbart Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 personally I like the FATEeyes. there a little pricey mesh eyes but they really offer a great varity. They can be practically any color and look you can even add custom textures. I know people are saying mesh eyes aren't worth it but if you like to change your eye color a lot then buy tons and tons of eye textures can get expensive but these you can make look like practically anything. Just my opinion though.
Madelaine McMasters Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I stopped looking for eyes when I saw those from Fashism (now called IKON). I haven't had the time to compare carefully to see what makes them so darned appealing to me, but for the first time since I'd been in SL (five years), I finally thought there was actually something behind the eyes of my avatar. Eyes are damned important, so it's worth trying out several creators to see what works for you.
Clarissa Lowell Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I like Poetic Colors. If someone new is reading this, they have a free pair on their patio for new avatars. For everyone else there is a free pair on the back wall.
Lucretia Brandenburg Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 I am a complete eye junkie, so any more suggestions would be great - i have dozens of eyes from IKON, lots from Eddesign (my fave before IKON), quite a few from Candace, but I'm always up for more shopping. Before IKON, Eddesign was my favorite, I just never bothered with the prim eyes that go with his sets.
Nox Vought Posted April 3, 2013 Posted April 3, 2013 Insufferable Dastard has some really nice realistic ones.
RiiCassidy Posted April 8, 2013 Posted April 8, 2013 Redgrave, probably the best in both mesh and prim. I wear prim eyes because i don't like to tamper with mesh that much. The eyes i purchased were so detailed and had shading ! not like the cartoon prim eyes that we are expected to deal with.
