I try to run Second Life with VMware player but i can't because it says"Second LIfe is unable to run because your video card drivers did not install properly, are out of date, or are for unsupported hardware. Please make sure you have the latest video card drivers and even if you do have the latest, try reinstalling them. if you continue to receive this message, contact the Second Life Support Portal". There is something i can do??

I am open to correction here, but I am pretty sure that what's causing this is that your VM is using eitther  your OS's built-in drivers or the drivers the VM has built in,  rather than those provided with your graphics card.

I am not sure how this can be rectified -- I could never figure out how to run SL in a Windows emulator under LInux (that doesn't mean anything, but several people who know far more about Linux than do I could never figure it out, either)*.

I am pretty sure that's the problem, though.   You need to find some way to make the VM use the right graphics drivers rather than generic ones.

*ETA -- I had Windows and Linux on the same machine, and up-to-date Nvidia drivers for both systems, but the Windows emulator insisted on using the generic Windows graphics driver rather than the Nvidia one.
