why isn't the destination map showing

When I click on a link to a destination the map doesn't show up so I can get there.  Why?

Clicking on a Destination invokes your PCs default web browser with the SLURL as an argument. This then displays any and all pertinent information about your selected Destination.

Make sure you have all your OS patches applied and have allowed the SL Viewer permission to launch your default internet browser.

The following may be happening to you when in-world also:

Web links can be opened in-Viewer

Upon clicking an external link in a profile, you'll likely see "A pop-up was prevented from opening." You can choose whether clicking Open pop-up window opens it in the in-Viewer browser or an external browser:

1. Select Me menu > Preferences.
2. Click Setup tab.
3. Select either Use my browser or Use built-in browser.
4. Click OK to save.

 

I always use the External [use my browser] option;
