how do vendors work

I have this group that has them as gifts? Is there a way to wear them or is it just for others to sell?

If they are gifts, all you probably have to do is to click (or right click) on them to purchase them for 0L. They will be delivered in your inventory and you'll certainly have to rez them on your land to use them. Make sure these vendors come with instructions.

ETA due to phone interruption! : Be carefull is these are affiliate vendors. These will generally ask you to grant permission to take money from your for account for commissions on the sales you will make. If you are unsure how these things work, speak with the group owner first.
