They probably won't do that - in fact, they're getting ready to allow regular SL vendors to purchase ads for their SL stores.

You might want to invest in an ad-blocker for your browser instead.

if people weren't such cheapskates and actually gave some money back for the time they spent in SL (yes you, all the "no payment info, no premium" people) LL'd make enough money they wouldn't need to resort to advertising.

They'd also be able to lower tier cost.
