Those official instructions didn't work for me either. You may however have a bigger issue -- like a bug. You might try copying to the Merchant outbox from the INVENTORY window (right click on object and choose Copy To Merchant Outbox -- I hope, logged off for the day). You might also just try ONE product and not a bunch as that process doesn't seem to work all that well.

And too, the Merchant outbox sometimes refuses to load  for whatever reason. Good luck. It is pretty great once you get all moved over. You might also try uploading something NEW using the merchant outbox and see if that works better. Difficult to say what to do really but I hope you get it worked out.

You might want to try the Merchant Outbox project viewer from http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Linden_Lab_Official:Alternate_Viewers as a workaround for moving stuff into the merchant outbox. Reports indicate that it should solve different kind of issues with the merchant outbox.
