Question

Posted

Last Friday, a live concert I ran was griefed by particle bombs.  I have discovered that the griefing HUD used is over 2 years old & is on open sale on Marketplace from at least three different sellers.  There is even a promo video on Youtube.  Informed suggestions are welcome.  Thanks!

PS In response to answers below, this particular HUD has no possible use or purpose other than as a griefing tool and it's not even thinly veiled ...... one seller's description in Marketplace says "12 VIDEOcrashers!!!attack, crash, spam Just choose the target" for example.

There's no inworld store, it's just available via several different sellers on MP.

The actual griefer we had who used this HUD I'm not interested in in this instance, he's had multiple AR's filed against him, it's getting this griefing tool removed from Marketplace and the inventory database.

You can submit an abuse report against the seller, but since he or she wasn't the one using it for griefing purposes, I don't think it'll go very far. You can also submit an abuse report on the griefer who used it, if you know who that was. I hope you took screenshots, so you can use those as evidence.

There are often "griefing" HUDS available on the marketplace. They're not necessarily intended for that purpose, but often it's pretty thinly veiled. Unfortunately, they're probably never going to go away, because the creator can easily say "Yeah, but I didn't MAKE them use it for griefing." Until a lot of people have a problem with it and a lot of AR's are filed against it, your best bet is getting the griefer; I don't think you'll get the object. (Filing an AR on the creator doesn't hurt, though.)

I was once advised, by a Linden who deals with such matters, to go to the inworld store and AR the vending machine there for Incitement to Break ToS (or something similar).   If that's not possible, simply submit an AR from anywhere, giving the marketplace URL as the location of the abuse.
