Linden Lab only takes tier payments in $USD.  You can sell some $L...click the Manage button next to the Buy $L button on your dashboard page.  The proceeds will go into your $USD balance.  Linden Lab will draw money from there first, before charging your credit card.

Adding to Lindal's excellent response, you may also increase your USD Credit on Hand Balance ahead of the :: tap against your Credit Card or Payment Method.

Use the Increase Credit link to add a minimum of $25.00 to your USD Balance from your payment method on file. This way YOU control the amount transferred and more importantly When!!!

Any Land Payment owed to Linden Lab whether it is a Mainland Parcel or a whole Private Island can be paid for in this manner.

 

Land that you lease from a "landlord" is paid for using L$ [Lindens] exclusively. Make no mistake, if you are NOT paying Linden Lab for your land/Island then you are leasing from a 3rd party.
