Question

I have made an account for second life and every time I try to log in it just says that its having trouble logging in. Its been doing this for a week now so I am pretty sure its not the program that is the issue. Does anyone have any idea as to why its not letting me log on? Im using a windows 8 laptop and wifi as my internet source. Im wondering if its because I'm using wifi that its not working? HELP!!

Well, wifi certainly doesn't help, but it's probably not what's keeping you from logging in.  Check first to be sure that your firewall and your anti-virus programs know that Second Life is not an evil intruder.

Those are the two most common reasons for a total failure to connect.  Beyond those, try the suggestions here >>> http://wiki.phoenixviewer.com/login_fail.

Then, once you get logged in, please do move to a direct cable connection instead of wifi.  You'll get better performance that way.  Also, even if you are on a new laptop, be sure to upgrade your graphics card drivers for Win 8.  If you don't do that, you may have odd graphics effects (strange colors).  See http://community.secondlife.com/t5/English-Knowledge-Base/Graphics-cards/ta-p/700073#Section_.1.5
