The Linden Homes seem to have a lot of Control Panel "disconnects"

That's the righ answer indeed.

If you sign into www.secondlife.com, then click "help" then "support" you'll reach the support section.  There you can file a ticket, there are options specifically for Linden Homes, and you can detail the problem.
