What is the comments called on the log in screen to my.secondlife.com?

When you go to My.Secondlife.Com and see the log in screen you see comments made by people.  I'm not sure if that's called a "Feed" or not.   But I was wondering if everyone is allowed to post there, can just anyone have their comments show up on that page, and what exactly is that page called.   Thank you to everyone who takes time to answer this question, and if I worded it wrong I am truly very sorry.

It's just weird how there are usually several made by the same people so I figured it wasnt just by random process and was wondering if it was possible for just anyone to post there.    Thank you for taking time to give me an answer

You mean the posts under the trends category? That are posts made by random people where LL thinks you might be interested in them based on some weird algorithm. I don't think anybody knows exactly why you see those posts in particular. I can remember people asking why they are seeing those over a year ago already.
