How is this Second Life-related?

Also you will have to tell us more about your environment, IF there is anyone who has experience with this.

What software and operating system were you using?

Please use the button 'options'-> edit at the top right of the page to add the required information to your post.

Thank you

Rei,

1st you need to be performing with headphones on. No in room speakers.

Make sure your PC taps the live feed from your sound card and NOT the sound from SL or other Windows apps.  In fact all sound from SL should be turned off!

You need a mixer [External is best or internal software based] as well to level the guitar in your headphones and to get the sound of your back tracks as well.

If you play acoustic and are using a guitar mic, that needs to be channeled separately.

Your singing mic needs to be directional with excellent noise blocking.
