Anywhere in SL?  No.   Anywhere in your sim? Yes.  There are many, but the simplest way to find objects on a sim is to use Firestorm's Area Search feature, in the World menu.  Scripts to scan an entire sim for an object require a moving scanning system, which is slow and cumbersome.  Firestorm's Area Search does put a temporary load on the sim's servers, but it is much faster than an LSL scripted device and gives you much more information than most.

yes you can buy a couple of "sim scanners" on the marketplace.

I also have such a gadget, it takes longer than area search of third-party viewers to find objects, but it's good to have in case you want to use the official supported Linden Lab viewer.
