From: Re-activating a canceled account

If you have cancelled your account, you may be able to restore it, depending on how long ago it was cancelled. There is a US$9.95 reactivation fee for restoring an account.

To start the process:

  1. Open a support case.
  2. Under What type of problem are you having? choose Account Issue.
  3. Choose Reactivate an old account.
  4. Enter the required information
  5. Click Submit.

If your account cancellation is still pending, call billing. They should be able to fix it for you without potential inventory loss, and without you having to pay the $9.95 fee. If it's already been cancelled, though, you've already been given great advice on how to deal with it.

You can leave an account inactive indefinitely - LL won't automatically delete it or assign to someone else or do anything to it all. (Just make sure that you don't have any land holdings and that you're not Premium, so you won't get charged for something you're not using.) That way, if - as in your case - you change your mind, you can pick it back up without having to worry about any of this stuff.
