I was reinstalling SL and I lost all of my inventory items after doing so, will I get them back?

yes.  Your inventory is not stored on your computer, but on Linden Labs' servers.

This is one of the rare times that clearing your cache may help,  In Preferences, Network tab, click the Clear Cache check box, then exit Preferences, log out, and log back in to an empty region such as Heckendorf or Pooley.  wait for your inventory to load.

You can speed up the process by typing something in the inventory search box.

If you're Inventory is loading or missing, it can only be for three reasons:

1) Your cache is loading.

2) Your internet connection is extremely slow.

3) Linden Lab servers.
