There were issue with the UK number in early/mid 2012 with residents saying they could not get through to Billing Support using it. I recall one person saying she had to remove the 0 before the 0800 to contact Support so try that if 0800 does not work.

There used to be a UK based customer support phone number available for all countries, this being +44 203.362.0268 but I don't know if it is still operational.

You can also email Billing Support at support@payments.secondlife.com if you are unable to make contact by phone. Email response was excellent when I used it a while back.
