Porky Gorky
I know how to upload an image, but can see no option that allows a free temp upload as you would find in 3rd party viewers. Cheers.
1 mikka Luik
version : Second Life 3.4.4 (268864) Jan 10 2013 04:16:34 (Second Life Release) in pick texture box, "local" button (bottom right under preview) then browse as required. Yes surprised me too 2
0 valerie Inshan
You don't see this option because it doesn't exist in the official viewer, Porky. Any upload is done for good and costs 10L. ETA: There was never a free temp upload option, even in the old 1.23:

0 Innula Zenovka
The key differences, I think, between LL's version of temporary image upload and that used by some TPVs are that LL's temp uploads are visible only to you, which makes them no good for collaborative building LL's temp uploads reflect changes you make in Gimp or Photoshop as soon as you save the image, which is handy LL's temp uploads will continue to work after server-side baking is introduced, which the unofficial system certainly won't do (if it's still working now, that is -- I am not sure). 2
0 Porky Gorky
I just searched “How to do temp local upload” and the first result was me, asking the same question 10+ years ago. That’s funny!
