Selling Artwork/Photos Questions

I have my own work to sell but I was curious how it worked with images from Second Life when you have someone else's studio or sim for the background and stuff like that.

You should review LL's Official Policy on Snapshots and Machinima.

Basically you are allowed to take photos in SL of anything you want to as long as the land owner doesn't specifically forbid it or says you need permission.

Machinima is the opposite.  You can't make a machinima that includes any location that isn't yours unless the land owner specifically allows it in the covenant or you have obtained permission.

Anytime you need permission it is best to get it in writing or at least keep a chat or IM log of it, so there is no misunderstandings.

While not required, it is nice to give a location credit.  Not only are you giving credit where it is due, many times I've seen photos or machinima's of some amazing things and would love to go see them myself.
