Question

On 5/15/2009 I made ღ彡Trixy ღ彡 (trixy.snowpaw) account, I was living Scotland united kingdom, with my boyfriend as I am awaiting my duel passport I had to return to the usa. Since my return I have been using my account but its remained linked to the UK due to me not knowing how to get it changed.

I have split from my boyfriend who now is clamming the account, As you can imagine I have put a lot of real life money into this account and would be most upset to loose it.

He is writing threatening letter to me as in all break ups there is bad feeling. All I ask is that it is set to me here in the USA, so that I can relax and get on with enjoying second life

Welcome to Second Life Answers, Trixy.

If you registered your account to your own details, birth date, real life name, and a security question, as long as you know the password for it, and your boyfriend does not also know all of these details, it should be a straightforward case of going to your dashboard, and changing the details on your account. If there is a chance your boyfriend knows your password, then the first thing you should do is change it NOW.

In addition to Marigold's very wise advice, your account doesn't know whether you are in the UK or the USA.  Linden Lab treats it the same, no matter where you are, with one exception.  Once you are in the USA, you are exempt from paying VAT, so you do need to change your Contact Information and your Billing Information to reflect the change in your country of residence.  Go to your dashboard at secondlife.com   >>> Account and follow the links to change both bits of information.  Otherwise, LL will assume that you are vacationing in the US and will continue to collect VAT on any monetary transactions.
