Question

NOTE: I ALREADY OPENED AND UNPACKED THE BOX AND AM WEARING SAID MOD BUT THE TEXTURES ARE NOT ON THE MOD. I DONT KNOW HOW TO REPLY TO MY THREAD SO I AM EDITING THE POST.

I bought an avatar that is a mod. I bought textures to change the skin of the avatar. I am confused with the instructions that came with the textures. Here are the instructions:

To apply textures:

1. Rez each part of the BG Feline that you are going to retexture on the ground.

2. Open your inventory and find the textures included with this mod. Drag each texture onto the appropriate part. For example drag the torso texture onto the torso. (Be careful when retexturing the muzzle, there is an invisible prim over the muzzle for the blush)

3. Once you have finished retexturing everything take each part back into your inventory. I suggest you put the retextured parts into their own folder for easier use later on

I can not rez the body parts, I can only rez the box they came in. So I added the textures to the box because thats the only  place it will go. Not on my avatar or its body parts. After I added the textures to the box, the box changed colors and I copied and wore it. The textures only showed up as pictures and did absolutely nothing to my avatar. I need help ASAP. I do not know what I am doing!!!

So you bought the avatar, unboxed it, put it on...So what are you dragging to the ground to rez? Did you make copies of the pieces you are wearing, and are rezzing those copies?

Try taking off the avatar you are wearing. Wear something completely different - one of the default Library avatars will do. Rez the pieces you want to recolor, and follow the instructions from there. Take the pieces back once they're all retextured - you should notice them changing on the ground from the old texture to the new one. None of them should look like boxes. Wear the retextured pieces.

Please remember that those here are only trying to be helpful, and refrain from shouting at us. We understand that you're frustrated, but your description of what you had already done was very vague, and the answer you were given was one I would have given myself as the first thing to try. Also, you're quite right - you can't reply to your own Answers post, you can only edit it; or, to reply to individual posters, you can click "Permalink" at the bottom of those individual's posts.

ETA: I see that you found a solution! Enjoy your new avatar!
