Second life freezes with the Not Responding message

SL viewer 2 often freezes and I get the Not Responding message

It looks like you have an underpowered notebook that doesn't have enough memory and is using a video card that may not be adequate for Second Life.  You may be able to get better results if you use a less demanding viewer instead of V3.  Try Capznip or Exodus or CoolVR, for example.
