I thought the OP was about the sim popping  up on the main page of the website. I'm able to see that sometimes without logging in. But I've been a bit perplexed, and also felt a bit hamstrung in the conversation, because I have never seen that happen here, myself. I took the OP on their word that it had happened to them here.

Don't worry, it's an equal opportunity thing.  There are many sims where men can go for their rape roleplay fantasies.

honestly, the mis spelling is normally someone forgetting to add ' to linden lab's... as in "linden lab's website"... and ppl just saying linden labs.... then others see that, and assume its labs instead of just LAB... sorry, i am a wee tired, and i tend to be a wee ocd about a few things.... however, i also make common mistakes.

It is against US federal law to show depictions of children in sexual situations. LL had nothing to do with it. The law was geared towards the overseas child pornogrphy rings. They included digital depictons to cover the internet. SL just happens to fall within that ruling. Virtual gambling is also illegal in the US.. hence why it is banned as well. Again, nothing to do with SL or LL.

On the other hand, having sex with furries and other animal depictions for example are not banned because those moral laws are mostly at the state level, and no one has yet to take LL to court for it.

Last time i checked, furries were not real creatures. Dogs and horses are. Beastiality is prohibited in SL as it is against US federal law. AR it and it should go away.

The same goes for international law; no one is willing to pay the legal fees yet to start an international court battle on internet law. For good or bad, that leaves virtual reality wide open to all forms of deviant behavior where the only moderators are the companies that provide the services.

Since my moral compass is different from any other person's, I practice tolerance (not to be confused with acceptance). I personally stay away from places that offend me but don't judge others on their own lines in the sand. In return, I expect the same treatment by others when they see me pixel bumping or dancing for tips. In that way I am ok with allowing violence-themed sims. What I am not ok with though is the hypocrisy Linden Lab runs SL by as I mentioned right off. In my book, the only thing worse than someone passing judgment on me is someone who does not follow the values they try to impose on others. That should be the real topic of this discussion.

Whos values should be followed? LL set rules and guidelines that are made by US federal laws, not values.  If you see someone breaking the TOS report them.

while private ownership and viewing of any form of rape RP is not illegal

distribution/transmission by default must meet the Miller Test on obscenity according to US Supreme Court. Court rule is not for it to determined what is actual obscene or not. is for the States to do this for themselves. bc what can be considered obscene in say Maryland may not be considered obscene in California. or vice versa

if you set your viewer to General then the Destination Guide will still show the Adult section. and you can read the descriptions

for completeness so it fits with the rest of the viewer then linden should probably not display the Adult section when is set for General or General/Moderate

There are alot of things that I have seen on SL I don't understand how it can be alowd. Rape sims happen to be one of them. When you look for urban sims there are more rape sims that come up then normal urban rp sims. Why anyone would want to be rapped even virtualy is beyond me. Adults in kid AV's is another one I don't understand. But, with that said, people don't have to go to those sims if they don't want to. Simply stay away from them.
